I'm a high school teacher of Computer Support who never seems to have enough time on my hands to accomplish everything I would like to accomplish. In addition, I'm the Signals Officer for the Department of Missouri, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. The man in the picture is R. Loebenstein from Warrensburg, MO, S of V Missouri Department Commander, 1889.
Congratulations to Brother Don Palmer, PDC from Grant Camp #68 for correctly identifying this Real Son as R. Loebenstein of Warrensburg, Missouri. After quizzing Don through email, I learned where he found information regarding the photograph. He attended the 125th National Encampment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania from 10 Aug. to 13 Aug. and saw the same picture on display. He recognized it from this blog. Loebenstein's name was written on the back of the picture, as was his location (Warrensburg) and the year he served as Commander for the Division of Missouri in 1889. Nice work, Don!
